BIOCARD DELIVERED THE FIRST BATCH OF CORONAVIRUS VACCINE
"Biocard Logistics" announced the delivery of the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to the capital's out-patient clinics No. 2, 62, and 220 for post-registration clinical studies.
"According to preliminary data, the vaccine supply market will increase to more than a billion dollars," said Oleg Baykov, Deputy General Director of Biocard Logistics. – Not only state-owned companies are interested in it, but also private companies, and what the market segments will be is highly questionable.”
Special conditions are required for transporting the vaccine, and the cost of a mistake is too high. Therefore, the selection of a logistics operator for the world's first delivery of a vaccine against a deadly virus was approached with the highest responsibility, he stressed, adding that "not every logistics company has necessary resources to implement such delivery."
"The most complex vaccine supply in the world was entrusted to Biocard Logistics, proving that our full-service logistics company is a reliable partner for leading pharmaceutical and healthcare providers not only in Russia but also globally," Oleg Baykov said.
According to the expert, the vaccine requires a new generation of logistics services, which should include an IT ecosystem for all participants in the supply chain, "smart insulated containers" capable of maintaining the necessary temperature for up to 240 hours, a temperature control system and a mobile application for customers.
According to him, the temperature control system of "Biocard Logistics" fully meets these requirements. It "allows remote monitoring of temperature in real-time during the transportation of temperature-sensitive medicines and vaccines."
